Recently, I ended a week of German wellness in Munich. There are so many things to do in this metropolitan city from a tour of the city to a spa treatment at the Sofitel Hotel, but no other activity just screams a sunny afternoon in Germany than a bike ride down the river ending in a Beer Garden. Wonder what that type of day is like? Read below, then plan your own trip to Germany soon!

Of course after a spa treatment and a good night’s sleep in my two-story suite at the Sofitel Munich Bayerpost in Munich, I found it a must to grab a bike with a group of friends and explore this city. Get ready for a not so typical day on two wheels when you are in Munich. This city gives you the joy of cycling past the scenic Isar River that runs through Munch, Germany. Here you will see those taking in some sun, dog walkers, and yes surfers.  After a far ride that goes by really fast, it is now time to refresh and hydrate. There is only one way to do that in this region of Germany, where Oktoberfest began.

Make your way to the most famous beer garden in Munich, the Waldwirtchaft beer garden and enjoy your own Oktoberfest no matter what month it may be. YES the beer does taste better here, whether it is fresher or because you just finished a 12 kilometers ride on a beautiful warm day ride. I am not even a beer drinker and found it tasted like the most refreshing beverage on earth at the moment. Apparently, I am a beer drinker in Munich!

The perfect brew for this day is a traditionally brewed unfiltered Franziskaner Kellerbier beer. Hazy amber in colour, it is brewed with carefully selected ingredients. Hallertau hops give a noble aroma and a fine bitter note, whilst the addition of yeast gives a soft, round and slightly spicy flavor. It tastes like liquid sunshine in the original home of Oktoberfest – Munich Germany!
