The Spa by Thalgo at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, part of Sun Siyam’s Luxury Collection, has unveiled a new Longevity Program designed to support healthy aging, deep relaxation, physical recovery, and holistic wellness. Drawing on centuries of Ayurvedic science, traditional Maldivian healing practices, and Traditional Chinese Medicine, the program offers guests multi-day curated packages, transformative wellness days, and daily fitness classes, all within the serene natural setting of one of the most celebrated luxury resorts in the Maldives.

Modern Wellness Meets Ancient Traditions

At the heart of the new program are Ayurvedic therapies grounded in the ancient Indian tradition of Rasayana, a system of rejuvenation and detoxification once practiced by royalty to maintain peak health and vitality.

For a dawn-to-dinner immersion, the Purification Spa Day begins with early-morning meditation, pranayama, and yoga postures before moving through a curated sequence of treatments, including a steam bath, detox body scrub, Marma Massage, and a 90-minute Shirodhara session. An evening yoga class and ceremonial bath bring the day to a close. Throughout the day, guests follow a purification diet designed to cleanse the body of accumulated toxins and restore its natural vitality.

For Preventive Care, Swaasthya Rakshanam revives nine ancient Ayurvedic rituals  honoring the belief that protecting health is as important as restoring it. Designed to cleanse and restore the body’s sensory organs, the experience guides guests through therapies including Nasya (nasal purging), Gandusha (oral fluid holding), Dhumrapana (medicated fume inhalation), Abhyanga (herbal oil massage), Shiro Taila Dharana (scalp oiling), Lepana (herbal paste application), Snana (purifying herbal shower), Anjana (eyelid cleansing), and Sugandha Dharana (aromatic spice chewing).

Guests can also experience these timeless treatments in multi-day packages, each beginning with a personal consultation with a resident Ayurvedic doctor.

  • Three-Day Rasayana Package guides guests through foundational treatments including Abhyanga, a full-body herbal oil massage; Kizhi or Njavara Kizhi, a bolus therapy that nourishes deep tissues; and Shirodhara or Ksheera Dhara, a continuous warm oil stream applied to the forehead to induce profound mental calm.

  • Seven-Day Rasayana Package expands the journey with Udvarthanam (an invigorating herbal powder exfoliation with steam), Marma Massage (targeting vital energy points), and Pizhichil (a royal therapy in which warm medicated oil is poured continuously over the body). The deeply restorative progression nourishes cells and tissues, strengthens immunity, and creates harmony between body, mind, and soul.

  • Fourteen-Day Rasayana Package is fully customized by the Ayurvedic doctor following consultation, providing a bespoke healing journey tailored to each guest’s individual constitution and wellness goals.

Traditional Maldivian Treatments

The new Longevity Program also honors the islands’ own rich heritage of botanical medicine through exclusive Traditional Maldivian treatments:

  • Umbuliveyo Banun — an ancient remedy for body aches and joint discomfort — envelops guests in a warm paste of tropical island herbs, then wraps them in freshly picked banana leaves with hot stones placed at vital points. A single-stream oil head massage and a full-body herbal oil massage complete this uniquely Maldivian healing experience.

  • Bondithaan Kurun is a warm herbal bolus massage rooted in traditional Divehi medical practice, used to address muscular stiffness, arthritis, and stress-related conditions. Locally sourced herbs with distinct medicinal properties are bundled together, warmed in coconut oil, and applied to the body following a regenerative oil massage.

Complementing the Ayurvedic offerings, the spa features Traditional Chinese Medicine therapies including personalized Acupuncture, which balances the flow of vital qi energy to address insomnia, muscular tension, and mental stress, and Cupping Therapy, which uses heat and suction to mobilize blood flow, reduce inflammation, and support cardiovascular health and detoxification.

Wellness Workshops

The Longevity Program is supported by a robust schedule of daily wellness classes, including Yoga, Pranayama, Meditation, Pilates, Guided Beach Jogging, Lagoon Aerobics, Stretch & Strength Training, and Cardio Fitness Training. All classes are conducted with an emphasis on mindfulness and inner awareness, cultivating improved concentration, discipline, creativity, and sustained wellbeing.
