At the Greenbrier, guests are able to choose from various experiences during their stay. Glide across the ice skating rink with the gorgeous hotel and mountain scenery or embark on a horse drawn carriage ride through the resort’s picturesque grounds; you may be lucky and have a carriage ride paired with snow like we did! For those who enjoy thrills, journey to the resort’s underground casino and enjoy the live entertainment while testing your luck.
The most exciting adventure we embarked on was a tour of the Greenbrier Bunker, also known as “Project Greek Island” by the government from 1958 to 1992 when it was decommissioned. This facility was intended to serve as a relocation site for the United States Congress in the event of a nuclear attack. During the tour, visitors are able to see and learn about how this area was constructed, how it remained a secret, and how it would transform into a safe haven if needed. At the end, you are given 5 take home postcards with photos from the tour, which is perfect since you cannot bring any electronics or even personal items at all on the tour. Make this a must-do when visiting the Greenbrier!
Other things to do include an arcade, bowling alley, escape rooms, murder mysteries, falconry, paintball, pickleball, Segway tours, shuffleboard, and the list continues! The Greenbrier offers an array of must-do experiences that promise to create cherished memories for every guest.
Spa
Immerse yourself in the epitome of relaxation at The Greenbrier’s spa, where indulgence meets rejuvenation in a sanctuary of tranquility. We were able to enjoy the ultimate pampering experience: “The Greenbrier Treatment.” You begin your journey with a tranquil soak in the healing waters of White Sulphur Springs. From there, you indulge in a rejuvenating session in the Swiss Shower and Scotch Spray, meticulously crafted to cleanse toxins and revitalize your body’s cells. Our finishing touch for this ritual was a 50-minute Swedish massage, tailored to dissolve tension and restore balance to your body and mind. are prioritized.
By the end of this experience, we had completely melted into a state of ultimate peace within our bodies. I have never felt so relaxed in my entire life. At The Greenbrier spa, you can tell that every detail is thoughtfully considered to ensure your well-being and inner peace.

Among The Greenbrier’s diverse dining options, you’ll find everything from the bustling main dining room to the upscale vibes of Prime 44 West and the cozy intimacy of The Forum and The Windsor Club Lounge (also known as the Virginia Room). With such a variety, guests are truly spoiled for choice. For those seeking a quick refreshment, The Greenbrier Gourmet coffee shop, nestled in the shopping level, offers the perfect spot to recharge throughout the day. Out of all these dining spots, Prime 44 West is my top pick. Their Filet Mignon is just out of this world, especially with that rich truffle butter—it’s a total game-changer in terms of flavor.
Staying in the Windsor Club section will elevate your stay. You’ll have exclusive access to a private lounge, where you can enjoy chef-prepared hors d’oeuvres and meticulously crafted cocktails around the clock. Beyond the culinary offerings, this prestigious wing provides personalized services, including a dedicated concierge, ensuring a truly luxurious and memorable stay at The Greenbrier.

As I reflect on my stay at The Greenbrier, I am drawn back to its aesthetics and focus on relaxation while experiencing the enduring legacy of America’s Resort.
