Sprawling is what Indonesia is with their thousands of islands. Indonesia’s surreal scenery, sunny beaches and historical temples. You can discover this island allure in many ways, but why not do it luxuriously if you can.  Your vacation or holiday will be more stress-free and enjoyable if you embark on a luxury journey to all the corners of Indonesia.

While most start in Bali due to the exotic tales they have heard from there, I see that how Bali has an amazing draw when it comes to wellness travel and amazing properties.  So start your travel plans and plan out your journey.

While in Bali you may want to stay at one of the luxury hotels.  Many there have amazing bathrooms and amenities as all spa travel gals adore.  Check out this tub in the photo below.  I could relax there and plan a tons of amazing activities for the week. Time to make that hotel booking. Are you ready to go?

Now you are ready to explore Bali after that amazing relaxing bath.  Check out some of the Bali spas here in a post I wrote a while back. Nothing looks more serene or relaxing than the tropical feel of these spas.

The most popular spa treatment in Bali is the Balinese massage.  You may have had this at your local day spa, but I promise you that may have not been anything like the real thing. The Balinese massage is from the Indonesian province of Bali and available at the Trans Bali Resort. It was influenced by the traditional medicine practices of India but also China and Southeast Asia.

The Balinese massage has techniques that include acupressure, the practice of skin rolling and flicking, and also firm and gentle stroking along with the application of lovely smelling and feeling essential oils. Sometimes it can include a body polish at some posh spas elsewhere like these coffee spa treatments, but usually in Indonesia it is left at the purist form of massage. If done correctly you will not need anything else!

Indonesia is also the perfect spot for wellness travel that includes a yoga retreat. Most yoga retreats house you in a villa complex possibly along a river. Your retreat will be surrounded by tropical gardens and extremely ornate ponds with lush greenery. Open air yoga studios are the norm and most overlook some of the most spectacular views of rice terraces, temples and the greenest jungle anywhere in the world.

Who says you can’t retreat to another luxury hotel after your yoga retreat.  One must be sure to slowly return to their everyday world so as not to shock your system.  I feel that a visit to a UNESCO World Heritage site is always a great addition to any vacation.

Go see the UNESCO World Heritage site of Borobudur before you return home. It is a ninth century Buddhist monument. Borobudur shows the life story of Lord Buddha through the work of amazing carved stone panels, honroable buddha statues and stupas.  It is said to have some of the best carvings anywhere in Asia.
