Note:  What is Spa Travel Gal’s new favorite business class airline?  airberlin! All of their amenities are top notch, but then they went the 2nd mile and added a spa chair massage button to the new reclining airberlin business class seat. There was nothing this chair would not do to create a comfortable place for me to relax and lay flat to sleep on my journey to Berlin.

Once on board, I was in love with this place – it became my own personal Zanadu. German wines (even Chardonnay) to a semi-sweet French Rose — poured seat side by my own personal concierge in the air.  They also offer some of the best cuisine I have ever tasted over 30,000 feet in the sky.

Many flights make you feel like your time is spent in a cubby hole – airberlin’s new business class is like a palatial estate compared to that.

Once on board, I fell so in love with the seating – that my thoughts turned to how I could bring this into my home ….. home theater seats ….wonder how I could get one of those sweet rides?

Have you ever had the chance to fly on a private plane? Well I have a few times and this was way better!  You have privacy.  On a private plane you only have privacy if you are the only one on the flight.  The new airberlin configuration makes it your own haven unless you choose one of the seating made for those who wish to travel in tandem.  Now that seating was the only other type that intrigued me.

I met a couple in the private lounge before the flight (a perk for business class ticket holders) and they ended up seated in one of the couple arrangement business class seats.  They looked so happy – it made me miss my own husband and family members — but not for long!

My shrimp appetizer had arrived and that was the freshest tasting (not tough)….also my chicken entree made me use the fresh roll to soak up all of the excess sauce — On a flight have you ever had Excess Sauce or Sauce that made you want more…..didn’t think so!  After a few more pours of wine, I may have been looking for my maître d.

These tasty delights were designed by renowned Sansibar restaurant on the island of Sylt. Now I want to visit the actual restaurant after enjoying their meals in airberlin business class.

Okay here is when I knew I was in heaven – they have Nespresso coffee drinks on board! I have been wanting one of these espresso machines so bad (family take note here)…hint hint.  Traveling in Europe has me addicted to Nespresso!
