Now you must know (since many of you also blog) that the UPS driver knows my address by heart.  Daily I get tons of new or updated products dumped on my doorstep with the soundtrack of my dog, Lily barking like an alien just landed in the middle of my front yard. So this month when I received my first TravelBox I was not to eager to open it up.  I thought what could be in here that I had not already discovered elsewhere or the thought also was where am I going to put this stuff.

When I finally opened it, I was delighted to see the insert said Airport Edition since flying had been my “hobbie” lately.  All I can say is that after you fly a good bit, it can lose a bit of it’s glamour for a while (that is until the plane takes you on another amazing adventure). This TravelBox “Airport Edition” contained items to help you luxuriously make your way through the airport and flight more comfortably. Also if lux is not your thing how about cool – the cool factor for all these items is off the chart – now we all want to be cool now don’t we?

The Airport Edition included a Trace Me Luggage Tracker (I will use for my trip to Berlin!), Lux City Guide (for Tokyo – so now I guess I need to go!), a Vapur Reflex Anti-Bottle, a Shea Terra Organics Rose Hips and Black Soap Facial Cleanser (sorry I am allergic to Rose), and 2 Uber Bars (that my family scooped up immediately to eat).

Now I did see on another website that there Travelbox Airport Edition contained 2 Boxes of Chocolates too.  So my box contained 5 types of items instead of 6.  This made 2 of the 5 useful for me. If they would have just added the chocolate it would have been perfect for me and got them up to 50%.  So I need to ask – does one complete a check sheet to say their likes, dislikes or allergies before they start receiving these boxes?  So off to the website I went to sign up and I did not see this anywhere unless it comes after you plug in your payment.

One of the best descriptions I saw for the TravelBox was from there Q&A section of their webs tie:

What can I expect in the travelbox?

We scour around the world to find unique, fun, innovative items you may not have heard of yet. each travelbox will contain a combination of 4-5 premium travel, food, beauty and lifestyle items that could include:

  • travel inspiration: e.g. foreign language tools, maps, books on traveling
  • travel gear: e.g. foldable water bottles, portable phone chargers
  • travel comforts: e.g. sleep masks, ear plugs, travel candles, travel pillows
  • grooming & beauty products: e.g. locally milled soaps, premium skin care products, portable sunscreen
  • travel snacks: e.g. premium artisan chocolates and snacks from around the world
  • travel entertainment: e.g. games, books

Here are a few more details that I know you are dying to know:

  • Travelbox includes a curated mix of travel goods selected from around the world. Perfect gift for the traveler or people on-the-go.
  • $6 shipping & handling fee within the U.S.
  • No long wait for your box! If you sign up between the 20th and 31st, your box will ship on the 1st or 2nd of the next month. If you sign up before the 20th, that month’s box will ship with 5-7 business days from signup. Future boxes will ship on the 2nd of each month.
  • Automatically renews on the 20th of each month after you receive your first box. Cancel anytime.

So while this box did not make me fall in love with it – the concept and idea still intrigues me.  Possibly if they could be a bit more custom they would be worthy of a monthly fee each month at a reasonable price.

The dream slip mask that I saw in one of the other boxes, seems to be the biggest hit with bloggers and reviewers.  Looks like it is an amazing product that I did not know about except from TravelBox.

I do appreciate any new travel product and see it as a service for both the traveler and those who market to travelers!

Here’s to a great future as you build out the world of TravelBox! I would like to ask TravelBox to stay in touch with me, so I can see how you grow and change with the needs of your consumer.
