While I was searching for a photo to celebrate National Bath Day with you guys the other day, I ran across many photos of my days from a travel to Ireland. The Ring of Kerry still brings back memories along with seeing where the Titanic left dock. If you ever get to Ireland you will know why Green is the color associated with this lovely lush country. It’s countryside is a green that I have never seen before in such wonder and doubt I will ever see again unless I return. I hope to travel to Ireland again one day.
When I was in Ireland, I saw many people in campers all around. Even when I was in England at Stonehenge the backdrop was campers. Caravanning in England as they call it is very affordable there and easy to navigate.
Wonder why those in Ireland and other parts of Europe love caravanning as they do? I think it is the freedom to do as they please without a schedule like many group tours. Caravanning allows you do “stop and smell the roses” as they say even if it is not on the itinerary! But to keep that relaxed carefree feeling they do have to plan just a bit by making sure they have the proper insurance. You know many people assume that the caravan is covered by their car insurance, but that just isn’t true. So, if perhaps you do decide to go caravanning in Ireland, check with the Caravan Club about caravan insurance options and get covered before you head out!
A few things one might see while caravanning in Ireland would be the Blarney Castle, which was built nearly 600 years ago. Now if you were caravanning, you could just decide to stop and do what most every one does that comes within a few miles of the castle – KISS the Blarney Stone! Take a peek at the photo above of me about to take the plunge. At first I thought no way am I going to put my mouth where thousands of others had before, but you just can’t go there and not do it. Maybe it is the fresh cool breeze that is usually blowing as you climb up to the top of the castle and wait in line. Possibly it is the two men standing there to hold you upside down practically on your head to do the deed and maybe it is just the luck of the Irish you are after! Either way it is an experience of a lifetime! Just make sure you have some hand sanitizer to pucker up to afterwards.
