Some people prefer the kind of vacations where they can lounge by the pool for hours on end, sipping wine and reading the books they’ve been waiting to get around to all year. Others could not think of anything worse and would rather be up and on their feet each day.

If you’re part of the latter group, you’ll be pleased to hear that there are plenty of ways in which you can satisfy your taste for adventure through travel. Read on to find out more!

Plan an RV trip. Planning an RV trip is a great way to satisfy your sense of adventure, as it gives you the opportunity to explore far and wide. Not only that, but once you’ve pitched up at a trusted RV park, you can also explore the local area on foot, or participate in a wide range of adventurous activities, such as kayaking and white water rafting. It’s a great way to reconnect with nature and remove yourself from the stressors of everyday life.

Challenge yourself. If you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime kind of adventure during your next vacation, then why not truly challenge yourself? For example, as opposed to heading out for one run-of-the-mill hike after the other, take things one step (or several thousand steps) further by hiking through Hong Kong instead.

Of course, if you are considering this option, be sure to prepare yourself for the realities of this kind of journey. You need to be physically fit and mentally focused if you’re going to make it to the top!

Try new foods. Being adventurous isn’t always about getting your heart racing – it’s about stepping outside of your comfort zone. As such, you’ll find that you can satisfy your lust for adventure by trying new foods when traveling, too. For example, instead of ordering a dish that you’re already familiar with, try something entirely new to you, focusing on local cuisine. This is a great way to enjoy a more authentic experience, too!

Don’t cling to your schedule. While you should have a loose itinerary in your head for your trip, don’t feel as though your schedule is set in stone. Otherwise, you may find that you’re missing out on adventures as you’re unable to be the least bit spontaneous during your trip.

You can make sure you’re being as spontaneous as possible by being open to new opportunities, and even asking locals for recommendations of things you can see and do. This comes with the additional benefit of helping you to avoid overcrowded or overhyped tourist traps, as they’ll be able to provide you with more insight into what you should see or do in the area.

Final thoughts. There are plenty of ways in which you can satisfy your taste of adventure through travel, from sleeping under the stars in an RV to being willing to throw your schedule out the window should an opportunity present itself. Either way, stay safe and have fun!
