Nestled away in the Rocky Mountains is Monarch Casino Resort Spa with luxuries for everyone in your party. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted with accommodating personnel and awe-inspiring mountain side views. From casino to spa to fine dining, you will never have a dull moment while staying here.
Lodging
My mom (Spa Travel Gal) and I stayed in the Monarch Corner View Spa Suite and the Ultimate Spa and Sauna Suite. Both suites have amenities that ensure you truly never have to leave your room.
I stayed in the Monarch Corner View Spa Suite, and this room may be a far walk from the elevator, but it is worth it! The room has a desk, a King bed, and lounge area. Along with that, it has your very own spa tub with a mountain view! This tub was the best way to soak and relax without having to leave your room. Besides the in room amenities, you have access to the lounge with refreshments and a concierge for any of your needs. The assistants in the lounge were always swift with your requests, and the lounge was the perfect way to begin and end your day!
The Ultimate Spa and Sauna Suite is extravagant as it has 3 bathrooms, a living room, a wet sauna, a dry sauna, and a giant bath tub – all with the mountain side view.
The giant tub and dry sauna have their own room and is the perfect spa necessity for anyone who wants 24/7 spa amenity access. If we were in the room, my mom was using one of the spa amenities at any given moment. She used the wet sauna every time she showered and then went over to the dry sauna to complete it. There is also an entire living room area that can be closed off with its own bathroom so you can host guests without worrying about them seeing your messy room!
I definitely snuck over a few times to enjoy these amenities while my mom was busy! Truly a room unlike any I have ever seen.
Spa
This is a world class spa with stunning views, so you must stop here on your visit to Monarch. There are copious amenities which could easily be spread out over an entire day or even weekend. You are welcome to enjoy these amenities without a booked treatment, but I highly recommend receiving a facial or massage.
To start your journey, there is an aqua spa lounge that has an experimental shower and a dipping pool.
The experimental shower offers an array of jets and scenarios that refresh you before dipping into the pool. It is designed to aid in your inner well-being and stimulate the senses through ice fog, thunder shower, tropical rain, gentle falling snowflakes, and infused waterfalls with essential oils. Overall, this stimulates blood circulation throughout the body while strengthening your immune system and tightening the skin. Inside the pool, there is a waterfall massage and jets which are perfect to get out any body aches. Outside of the pool, there is a fountain of cold crushed ice which also helps stimulate blood circulation and tighten the skin.
Past that, you will find a brine inhalation-light therapy lounge, herbal steam rooms, and a laconium relaxation lounge. The brine inhalation-light therapy lounge offers a beautiful waterfall of flowing crystals while lights change colors rotating around the color wheel with soothing music. The salt aerosols in this room aid in increasing the well-being of your physical and mental well being. The herbal steam room offers humidity, herbal aromas, and soft and relaxing lights and music. The laconium relaxation lounge is a perfect alternative to a sauna as it is slightly cooler. The floor is heated along with contoured seating to relax and melt your body into.
For my treatment, I had the organic facial which addresses your specific needswith Éminence Organic Skin Care products. These are paired with fresh organic ingredients combined to curate your facial to ensure every one of your needs is met.
Located right outside of the spa is an indoor infinity pool, outdoor jetted spa and fire pits on a sun desk. This is the perfect spot to relax even if you aren’t at the spa. We opted to relax here on our last day to enjoy the mountain views and hot tub to get some fresh air. Even though it was 40 degrees outside, it did not feel that cold with the hot tub and fire pits!
Dining
With 5 restaurants to choose from, you always have an option for breakfast, lunch, and dinner plans.
For breakfast every morning, we opted to eat in the lounge and enjoyed some pastries and fruit. We saved most of our appetite for lunch and dinner to indulge at Twenty-Four 7, Monarch Chophouse, and the Bistro.
Our favorite lunch spot was Twenty-Four 7 which offers American and Asian cuisine. My favorite item off the menu was the Chicken Lo Mein – it was the best lo mein I have ever had! My mom even had the Veggie Lo Mein and said it was the best she had ever had! A bonus about this restaurant is that it is located on the second floor of the casino and is open 24/7 (shocker). The restaurant is right next to the coffee shop Java which offers Starbucks coffee, Teavana tea, pastries, gelato, and more. It is perfect for a morning wake-up or an afternoon treat.
Monarch Chophouse has many options for steak, seafood, and cocktails. The bartenders Liz and Tyler were very knowledgable and even gave us a complementary sample of their signature cocktail the Full Monty. It is Breckenridge Vodka, Fresh Peach Puree, Peychaud’s Aperitivo, and Fresh Lemon Juice. It was so delicious we had to come back the next day before dinner to get a full one! For dinner, I chose prime filet mignon and the jumbo asparagus with lemon zest and parmesan – both tender and tasty. My mom opted for the Cedar Plank Skuna Bay Salmon with broiled sweet onions, basil, and smoked salmon butter. It came out in on a platter with a dome lid and emitted steam upon opening. This is a must stop for your stay at Monarch!
The last night we chose the Bistro Mariposa as it is an array of Mexican Latin dishes and high-end tequila. As you walk in the front door you are greeted with a glas wall to see the chefs preparing your meal. The grill is on display and will make your mouth salivate as you walk inside. For an appetizer, you must try the fry bread esquites which is charred corn, mayo, cotija, chipotle, and lime over a tapa. I paired that with a smokey paloma with mezcal and fresh lime juice. For the main entree I had to choose carne asada tacos and finish it off with goat cheesecake for dessert.
Sustainability
Monarch’s sustainable initiatives include having energy-saving LED lighting with auto shut-off and high-efficiency plumbing fixtures. They also are able to eliminate over 45,000 single-use plastic water bottles through their Vivreau water system throughout the property. Along with all of this, they offer an array of electric car charging stations.
You can truly find something for everyone at Monarch Casino Resort Spa in your party here among the casino, spa, restaurants, and stunning views.
Sounds heavenly!
Definitely a place I want to return to often!
