Hotels.com ask me to share my Dallas experience with you today. They say everything is bigger in Texas, and that goes for an epic vacation, too. If you’re craving the vacation of all vacations, head to Texas’s heart: Dallas.

The city of Dallas is more than just boots, horses, yeehaws and the Dallas Cowboys. This city is also a cultural gemstone. It is a modern mecca, bursting with luxury, style, art and commerce. It’s the perfect getaway for a luxurious spa vacation to boost your mental and physical health and start your year on a high note.

There’s so much to do in Dallas, no matter your interests. On a hot day, it’s hard to beat a walk down the so-called Margarita Mile. Turns out, Dallas is home to the frozen margarita. After cooling off with a frosty beverage, swing by the Botanical Gardens. Or year round, visit the Dallas Arboretum, a colorful plant paradise.

Dallas has an increasing amount of green beyond the garden’s gates, too. For example, the 5-acre Klyde Warren Park actually stretches over a large freeway. And the Main Street Garden Park is near downtown. Take a selfie on the Ronald Kirk Bridge. Then ride a rented bike around White Rock Lake.

Another must-see is Dallas’s Art District, with the Meyerson Symphony Center, Nasher Sculpture Center and Crow Collection of Asian Art. Add the Dallas Museum of Art to round out the tour.

Where to Stay

Center your vacation around a hotel in the middle of it all, the Ritz-Carlton, Dallas, in Uptown. This five-star hotel, rich with locally inspired amenities and an on-site restaurant led by the “Father of Southwestern Cuisine” himself, is ideally located in downtown Dallas on McKinney Avenue. It’s a short walk to the park, aquarium and Perot Museum of Nature and Science. You can find a ton of luxury hotels in Dallas that will suit your needs.

The best way to stay at the Ritz is by booking a room on the Club Level, which includes access to the Club Lounge with complimentary dining and drinks. Rooms at the Ritz come with a complimentary shoeshine; luxury linens; designer toiletries; a marble soaking tub and rain shower; and more. But the highlight is the unmatched views of the city right from bed.

In addition, the Ritz-Carlton features Uptown’s largest luxury ballroom; an outdoor swimming pool; and underground valet parking to protect your vehicle.

Fearings, the on-site restaurant, specializes in southwest food that you can enjoy in several different locations (including an oh-so-Texas bar called the Rattlesnake Bar, as well as a wine cellar and patio).

The Best Spa in Dallas

Then there’s the spa, salon and fitness center.

The spa is full-service, which means it has it all: massages, facials and body treatments, as well as a sauna and spa tub. Work out in the fitness center (it even has a Peloton bike), then soak your sore muscles in the jacuzzi, get a massage and get your hair done for the night.

Signature treatments here reflect the community, like a margarita salt glow. If your face needs a boost, choose between a long list of facials, such as the Oxygen Facial (which infuses hyaluronic acid and oxygen into the skin) or the Vitamin C Facial (centered around 100 percent pure Vitamin C).

If your muscles are achy from travel, you can’t go wrong with a deep muscle massage or reflexology. The latter balances and relaxes your body by applying pressure to certain points on your feet.
