I somehow missed out on the bandwagon in the past few years to travel to Cuba. I guess I was too busy exploring the rest of the world to realize what lies just below the US to be such a gem for cultural travel. AND yes I know you have this question about Cuba AND Yes you can still travel to Cuba in 2020. Here are a few tips on how to travel to Cuba and some of my picks of where to stay.
How to Travel to Cuba
First and foremost there are There are eleven categories of travel under the new Cuba General License. The one that is now missing from the list is educational activities and people to people travel programs. BUT that does not mean that it cannot happen. Just be sure to research the specifics for your own country.

Where to Stay in Cuba
Now that we have that out of the way, let’s talk about where we should stay. Many of the accommodations were not brands that I am familiar with but one stood out to me, since I stayed at the Iberostar Grand Paraiso for my birthday one year and it was magnificent. I still remember all the great food and my bath butler! What a luxurious treat!
So when I saw this hotel in Cuba in Cuba I knew that was my pick for accommodations in Cuba. They have both modern and colonial suites with park views. All the rooms have great views to give you a window into the heart of Havana right from your room. The locations of this hotel in the historic district of Havana makes exploring on foot an easy task from this 5 star hotel. I hear there is a tunnel that is like taking a journey through time.
What do I look forward to for this hotel? The pool and sun terrace of course. It is the perfect place to have a local favorite or my warm weather fav an Aperol Spritz. From this terrace one still feels like they are a part of Havana, Cuba, since you can view the dome of the Capitolio. This national capital building is one of the most visited locations in Cuba.
