Recently I was in Mexico and while in the pool at the Grand Velas Riviera Maya, I ran into a vacationer and started up a chat. She just had that look – you know the jetsetter look. A great complexion, a chic sun hat from Lord & Taylor, a fashionable swimsuit coverup and the face of relaxation. As we spoke she mentioned so many places that she had visited already this year. I had to know more about this person and their jetsetter secrets. I don’t know if it was her (5th) mojito or not, but soon she was spilling the beans of how she could afford her jetsetter lifestyle. She used every deal imaginable!
So as I sipped my own frosty beverage and look out over the ocean, my mind stayed clearly on her discussion of the amazing travel deals she was recently able to snag. Then I almost dropped my glass when I heard her mention Groupon. Did you know that Groupon now had 4 & 5 Star deals on their website?
As soon as I got back in the states, I started checking it out and YES there were amazing deals to some great places like The Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort and more! This resort received a AAA Four Diamond award 30 consecutive years. Even with that recognition they still decided this sprawling island getaway could use a bit of face-lift. Wow a $85 million renovation later, the resort is much bigger and even better than ever. Beyond its 3.5 miles of beaches, the biggest onsite gem is its multitiered poolscape, which features an adults-only infinity pool with sweeping ocean views, a massive family-friendly pool and splash park, two hot tubs, and three fire pits. They also have an amazing spa that I myself have plans to visit this fall for one of their immersion weekends.
As I pursued around I saw some other top travel and fashion stores there now like the following: Travelocity, Orbitz, Expedia, and Hotels.com. You might also be interested in stores where they can get travel essentials like Boost Mobile, Foot Locker, Kohl’s, Lord & Taylor, and Adidas.
Well I now know the jestsetter’s dirty little secret and now it is mine too!
