Earth Day reminded me of a wonderful resource for cosmetic ingredients that I have not used in quite some time. The products I want to share with you have a little secret…the secret is actually in the seed – a hemp seed. Hemp is one of Earth’s most renewable resources, able to produce a full harvest within 120 days without the need for fertilizers or pesticides. That makes it perfect for today’s trend toward a healthy, green lifestyle and the perfect ingredient for hemp beauty products. Hemp has been around and used for many thousands and thousands of years to make numerous of items like rope, medicine, paper, rope, and yes beauty and cosmetic products.
In today’s world hemp is making a comeback and is so prevalent for a well-rounded productive ingredient in many types of beauty products and also clothes. It is a key ingredient in hemp cosmetic products for both hair care and skin care. Hemp is used way more than the way you might hear on the local news. It is also used for many other applications such as textiles, food, clothing (including jeans) and bio- diesel fuel. Industrial Hemp is not illegal. It is legally used and cultivated for commercial use throughout most of the world.
So you may have not thought of using cosmetics made from hemp seed before, but I bet you never thought about putting petroleum on your face either. Did you know that many of today’s regular drug store beauty products are made from just that product. Petroleum is not very green or face friendly. Definitely not something I want to put on my face – do you?
