As a fan of Carrie Bradshaw (well she was a successful writer), I am yet to decide if I will watch The Carrie Diaries. It is a new show on the CW, which is aimed at not my age bracket. Just the thought of trying to be Carrie should scare an actress to death. To touch such a icon of a character. I don’t think the young actress will even try. She is way too young to have ever watched a Sex and the City episode first run. To her this is probably just someone that she sees every day in her world and not someone with the same background OUR Carries grew up in. Her environment is much different in this digital age.
BUT I am still intrigued. Should I dare to DVR the show with the change it will tarnish Miss Bradshaw’s image? BUT I guess it is time to at least see when it comes on and I could take a look see. Opps just googled and it looks like it comes out on Monday nights at 8 EST. That is tomorrow night and I have to decide quick! Help me decide here is a little about the NEW Carrie!
Before she was a fashion icon, before her column in the New York Star, before Mr. Big, Carrie Bradshaw was an innocent 16-year-old girl living in suburban Connecticut. The year is 1984, and Carrie’s mother has just passed away over the summer, which means Carrie has to grow up fast. Her younger sister Dorrit is more rebellious than ever, and their father Tom is overwhelmed with the responsibility of suddenly having to care for two teenage girls on his own. Carrie’s friends – sweet, geeky Mouse; sarcastic and self-assured Maggie, and sensitive Walt – make life bearable, but a suburban life in Connecticut isn’t doing much to take her mind off her troubles. Even though the arrival of a sexy new transfer student named Sebastian brings some excitement to Carrie’s world, she is struggling to move on from her grief. So when Tom offers Carrie the chance to intern at a law firm in Manhattan, she leaps at the chance and has to decide where to live.Possibly a smart decision for her would be to google and find short-term apartments in New York City before Carrie gets to the big city of New York.
If we must know about the actress who adventures to play our dear Miss Carrie Bradshaw, here is what we know. The CW’s new drama series “The Carrie Diaries,” AnnaSophia Robb stars as Carrie Bradshaw, a wide-eyed 16 year old who, after the death of her mother, finds herself navigating through the ups and downs of high school life with a close-knit group of friends in suburban Connecticut, along with her new glamorous life in Manhattan. AnnaSophia Robb (really no space – I guess that makes me AvaRoxanne) is a native of Colorado revered for her stand-out performances in the films “Soul Surfer,” “Bridge to Terabithia,” “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and “Sleepwalking.” Robb has performed under the tutelage of directors Tim Burton, Doug Liman, Stephen Hopkins and Wayne Wang.
Miss AnnaSophia will also appear in the upcoming motion picture “The Way, Way Back” with Steve Carell and Toni Collette. Robb has previously starred in films including “The Space Between,” “Race To Witch Mountain,” “Jumper,” “The Reaping,” “A West Texas Children’s Story,” “Because of Winn Dixie,” “Spy School” and the highly rated TV movie “Samantha: An American Girl Holiday.”
Okay I have made a decision. I did like Soul Surfer so I guess I will give Miss Combo Name a chance! What are your plans….leave a comment below….
