Let’s be real, camping is probably the least luxurious travel concept out there. Nobody feels like they’re getting a taste of luxury when putting up a tent in a muddy field. But what if you learned that camping can be luxurious with just a couple of little changes? It’s entirely possible – and luxury camping experiences are growing in popularity – so let’s look at the two best ways to transform your vacation.

Camp In An RV

The first idea is to buy or rent a luxury RV. A normal RV is basically a big vehicle where you can sleep and eat. Luxury RVs take this to the next level by bringing loads of home comforts along for the ride:

  • A proper double bed with a double mattress
  • Actual cooking facilities
  • Built-in toilet and shower
  • Enough space for a family of four or five
  • Built-in TVs and entertainment
  • Ambience lighting
  • Soundproofing

It’s honestly like bringing your home with you, and this immediately amplifies the camping experience. You feel a lot better when you go to sleep at night in a quiet setting on a genuine mattress. Moreover, you can find a comfortable RV park to pull up in overnight and gain some extra luxury amenities:

  • Full-equipped laundry rooms
  • Spa facilities
  • Outdoor pools
  • Fiber internet connections
  • Dedicated hot water connections

You won’t feel like you’re camping anymore; it’s more like you’re moving around in a portable hotel! At the same time, when you step outside of the RV, you’re thrown straight into nature, so it still carries that lovely outdoorsy vibe you’re looking for.

Book A Glamping Experience

As brilliant as RV camping is, it has one obvious downside: you need an RV. Those of you who either don’t have one or don’t feel like renting one can still enjoy luxury camping by booking a glamping experience.

Glamping is like camping, only with one key difference: you’re staying in a much, much, much nicer place. Instead of a traditional tent, you may be in:

  • A massive luxury tent
  • Some sort of glamorous teepee
  • A luxury hut or cabin
  • A tiny home

The whole idea is that you get to experience camping outdoors, only this time you have all the home comforts nearby. This includes a bathroom, electricity, cooking appliances, real beds & mattresses, and so on.

It’s probably the better of the two ideas if you want to get as close to a real camping experience as possible – especially if you book a stay in a yurt or safari tent. By the end of the trip you’ll feel like you’ve spent a lot of time outdoors, yet you’ll be refreshed and won’t be clamoring for your bed at home!

The key takeaway from this post is that camping can be a luxury travel experience. Traditional camping will never be glamorous, but if you camp in a nice RV or go glamping, then you get the best of both worlds. Feel at one with nature and enjoy nearby hikes and walking paths while settling down and getting all the home comforts you’re used to.
