As the year comes to an end, another major event Liwa international festival will be going down from December 16 to December 31 in Abu Dhabi, UAE’s capital city.
Since its inception in 2004, the Liwa International Festival has become a significant event in the Middle East. It begins on December 16 and continues through the 31st, with the highlight being a spectacular spectacle on New Year’s Eve that includes music and fireworks. It is a requirement for both inhabitants of Abu Dhabi and visitors to the city to attend this event every year; this year is no exception.
At this year’s Liwa International Festival, there will be exciting racing events, a Liwa desert safari, and sports competitions on the world-famous Moreeb Dune. The festival will also expand to include the area around Liwa Village. This area will feature a wide range of musical artists and world-class food, shopping, and family-friendly entertainment.
This fun festival takes place at Moreeb Dune and has a wide range of things to do, such as music, food, shopping, and amazing motorsports. There will also be fun things going on, like the opening of Liwa Village, new restaurants like Antika and Zuma, and special appearances by Ludacris and Tyrese Gibson from the Fast and the Furious movies.
For 15 days, you will have the opportunity to watch live performances by renowned musical artists from the Gulf region, such as Khaled Al Mulla, Mutrif Al Mutref, Hamad Al Ameri, Abadi Al Johar, and Eida Al Menhali.
The Liwa International Festival will also feature live concerts, and the Main Stage will serve as the venue for the award ceremonies that will be held for the champions of the various motorsports competitions.
In the district known as the Souk, there will be a dining experience like no other, one that is completely immersive and has never been seen before. Every weekend, the eating area known as Gaze will play home to different culinary partners to provide guests with a world-class dining experience that will satiate their cravings.
Contemporary Emirati culture and design will be showcased alongside artisanal coffee shops in the Oasis and Pavilion sections. In addition, families are welcome to take advantage of several activities suitable for children, such as electronic games.
At the Liwa International Festival, people will not only be able to climb a dune with a 50-degree slope, but they will also be able to watch mixed sprints, drag races, and car shows.

Visitors can choose between authentic camping in the Liwa desert, traditional Emirati cultural activities, and shopping for handicrafts in the Liwa Village. This will give them a well-rounded shopping experience alongside regional and international brands.
Emirati culture, art, and music are honoured at Liwa Village, where visitors may also hear performances by renowned Gulf artists. Tickets start at AED 50 and can be purchased for the December 16 performance with local legends Hamad Al Ameri and Eida Al Menhali. Tickets start at AED 100 and may be purchased to see Saudi Abadi Al Johar, Kuwaiti Mutref Al Mutref, and Iraqi Rahma Riad play on December 23.
In collaboration with Antika and Zuma, Gaze has developed an immersive dining experience. Antika is only open from the 16th to the 18th of December and serves a menu combining Arabic and oriental cuisine for one sitting each evening. Zuma is open from the 23rd to the 25th of December and serves Japanese cuisine during three separate sessions each evening. The menu features various meals, such as fresh crab maki and the renowned miso-marinated blackfish. Prices for tickets to participate in the dining experiences start at 1,000 AED.
Car enthusiasts will have a blast at FuelFest Arabia, which features a variety of exciting motor events, from car displays to drag races. The event will feature iconic automobiles and notable people from the 17th to the 18th of December. There are a variety of activities suitable for families, such as go-karting and racing simulators.
In addition, there will be an opportunity to meet and greet Fast and Furious actors Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris, followed by a performance by Ludacris himself. Tickets begin at AED 100 for a single-day pass and increase to AED 1,200 for a VVIP pass that includes a meet and greets with the artist.
In the meantime, under the magnificent Moreeb Dune, there will be ongoing contemporary and traditional sports competitions, mixed sprints, drag races, and displays that are sure to excite guests once more.
The tournament will begin with car displays and lead up to the showpiece event of the program, the Moreeb Hill Climbing Championship, which will take place at the end of the year.
This year will be similar to previous years in terms of the number of people that sign up to participate in the exhilarating and record-setting hill climbing competition, which takes place on a dune with a face that is 50 degrees steep.
