Since many of us in the eastern half of the United State are today staying home due to the potential floods and actual floods, my thoughts have turned to new spa treatments. The chill in the air makes me learn for the warmth and cocoon-like feeling I get while in a warm spa robe.

Take a look at some of these lovely new spa offerings that just arrived in my inbox.

Beginning in October of 2015, travelers to Barcelona, Spain will have the opportunity to drift away, immersed in the scents and sensations of Damask Rose Absolute, a precious oil extracted from Damask Roses, (an export of Morocco.) The country of Morocco evokes imagery of spices, shifting sands and colorful marketplaces. Readers of Spa Travel Gal may not know that Morocco is situated surprisingly close to Spain, (a mere 8 miles away), on the border of Africa and the Mediterranean Sea.

This is only one of the new rose spa treatments that I have heard about this week.  There seems to be a trend turning back time to the days when wine and roses were considered the ultimate luxury. Once considered the queen of flowers, Damask Roses have been used since ancient times as a beauty elixir.

Drawing from their neighbor’s Mediterranean-African influences, luxury, Ritz Carlton property, Hotel Arts Barcelona is introducing an inspired new treatment at 43 The Spa. Crowned the “Diamond Rose Massage”, it marries elements of luxury and sensation and involves a mist of rose oil, to leave skin tingling and refreshed.

As winter approaches, the Diamond Rose Massage will be visually enhanced by holiday hotel décor. Displays centering on roses are included amongst the hotel¹s iconic floral designs; rotated weekly, they fill the halls with heavenly aromas year-round. Various rose arrangements by hotel florist, Donna Stain, can be provided upon request.
