Well I was one lucky gal when I myself won a $1,000 GC to the new downtown Columbia spa Pura Wellness Spa opening up next month! I am really feeling like an extremely lucky spa gal these days with two new spas opening up near our new lake home! I am trying to clear my calendar now, so I have time to refresh, relax and renew at both as much as possible this year!
Pura Wellness Spa will open this February in the Vista’s Historic Dupre Building. Pura will offer a full spectrum of aesthetic wellness services provided by high level professionals with state-of-the-art technology in a luxurious spa setting including a Float Pod! I have “been there done that” when it comes to spas – but even I am excited about trying this out!
Pura challenges the concept of traditional medical and day spas. This wellness spa builds an integrative, preventative approach for each client that focuses on mental wellness, physical health, and aggressive anti-aging prevention and correction.
“In 2015, Pura is going to revolutionize how we think of spas as we seek to partner with each client to treat the mind, body and spirit,” said Pura Medical Director Debra Mitchell, MD. Dr. Mitchell has over 22 years of experience as a pharmacist and internal medicine specialist. She has practiced extensively in aesthetics and has possessed a life-long interest in countering the aging process. Dr Mitchell is a member of the American College of Aesthetic and Cosmetic Physicians.
Pura Wellness Spa Manager Renee McCord has worked in a medical spa setting since 2006. “Pura is a game changer for aesthetic wellness. We take a comprehensive approach to treating skin, body, and mind. Our aspiration is to enlighten everyone by educating our clients on how this integrative approach will help them achieve remarkable, lasting results,” said Renee. In 2009 she became certified in Medical Esthetics Advanced Training and received her Esthetics Instructors license in 2010. Owners Dr. Angela and Andrew Schweiger are no strangers to building thriving businesses in the Midlands, owning Rice Creek Family Dentistry and South Lake Family Dental, two of the area’s premier dental practices.
