Join them that day and be welcomed with a Mimosa or Champagne cocktail while a pianist performs on a grand piano in The Lobby from 7 to 9 a.m.; 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; and 5 to 7 p.m.

Afternoon Tea is one of the hotel’s great rituals and was served on opening day in 1984, with loose tea steeped in Wedgwood teapots and poured through sterling silver strainers into teacups. The tea menu includes red and green teas as well as tisanes.
A commemorative 30th Anniversary Afternoon Tea—served on the original Wedgwood china and featuring a 30th anniversary blend from the original tea supplier Harney & Sons—is added to the hotel’s Afternoon Tea offerings in 2014.
