Where should you go if you want to be Cool in Atlanta?
You may say that’s an easy question – outside! But you see that is not the kind of Cool I am talking about! Nor am I am not discussing the kind of cool that comes with swagger either! The Cool I desire and crave comes from within – a certain state of bliss.
Just a few weeks ago, I needed the perfect spot to hold a business meeting with some associates. Somewhere centrally located to all parts of town, easy to get in and out and comfortable with no worries. Where did I go to discuss pressing matters on a very hectic day?
Lumen, the lobby bar, at The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta.
As soon as I sat down in the lush setting, I knew that I now felt at home, in control, well taken care of and in a state of Zen. Yes Zen, there may be many in my life that will find that hard to believe. Constantly, I am always on the go. My decision to hold my meeting at Lumen was the best decision of the month. It ‘s almost time for me decide another location for the same group of attendees. Should I try another spot? No!
I must go see the ICE BAR! Take a look at what is at The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta just in time for some HOLIDAY CHEER!

AT THE RITZ-CARLTON, ATLANTA (DOWNTOWN)
ATLANTA, Ga.—November 1, 2010—The holiday calendar brims with celebrations of the season certain to delight couples and families with children, presented amid glittering holiday décor and a mix of gospel and contemporary holiday music performed by groups of singers.
The interactive Ice Bar debuts this year in Lumen, the lobby bar. Guests select a special martini—such as the Cranberry Martini or the Winter Solstice, created for the season—and watch as the bartender pours the vodka down the ice chute, chilling it as it splashes into the guest’s glass. The Ice Bar is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday, December 2, 3, 4, 9, 10 and 11. Offered in Lumen throughout the month, the hotel’s signature Pecan Pie Martini, a slightly sweet, caramel martini, is served in a glass rimmed with a spicy pecan “pie crust,” and garnished with candied pecans.
