Cold & Flu season is right around the corner and we are left with the big question- what can I pro-actively do while I travel? Aside from continuously washing your hands… supporting a healthy immune system all year around is perhaps one of the best things for your health while you travel during the cold or flu season. The new developments with the Affordable Care Act are making doctor’s appointments much more convenient (especially financially). However, if you do get sick, after you go to the doctor, there are some steps you can do to assist your body in feeling better faster. Please see the recipe below sent to me from a few already popular natural products for this year’s cold & flu season; BioK+®, pure-Absorb (Company-Bach’s Rescue®) Ocsillococcinum®, and San-J International.

6 cups gluten-free chicken broth
5 shiitake mushrooms, stems removed and thinly sliced
4 green onions, thinly sliced
3 Tablespoons San-J Gluten Free Tamari
8 ounces maifun thin rice noodles
1 sheet nori seaweed, cut into 1 inch strips

The Gluten Free recipes that appear in this website incorporate a variety of San-J’s products that are Certified Gluten Free. Check out my pal’s website here for an amazing gluten free stuffed portobell0 mushroom recipe. Please be sure to consider the other ingredients to make sure they comply with your dietary needs and restrictions. BunkyCooks is my one of my favorite food bloggers and she has a new book coming out soon! She does squeeze in a spa sometimes too!

In a medium saucepan, combine chicken broth, mushrooms, green onions and San-J Gluten Free Tamari. Bring to boil. Reduce the heat and simmer on medium-low for 10 minutes. Cook maifun thin noodles according to the package instructions and drain.
Add noodles to the soup. Sprinkle nori strips over the noodle soup and serve.
