Most of us spa gals have had about all we can take with the heat and humid weather lately, but summer is not over so what’s a spa gal to do? We can’t always jet away to somewhere with more refreshing weather, but we can follow some tips from someone that I respect and adore learning more about skincare from these days. Take a look at what Annmarie Gianni Skin Care has for us below for some cool skin tips for hot and humid skin care! I just adore all her products and have been amazed at how refreshed I feel after using them!

Even hot and humid weather has its own skin challenges…  Hello Beauties!

Today, I have a few beauty tips for you, but wanted to start on a personal note…

I have to tell you, I am feeling more pregnant each day!  As you may or may not know, my husband and I are expecting our first child in the month of July, so this is a totally new experience for us — and particularly me, since he doesn’t have to carry the baby!

I have to admit that I’m very grateful that I do not live in a warm climate full time.  We spent the last week in New York visiting family and friends and it is just way way too hot and humid here (and it’s only May!)  I guess I’ve gotten used to the cool and steady weather in the Bay Area.

Anyway, I thought it would be fun to share some ways that I have taken extra care of my skin — and stayed cool — in this sticky weather…

1.  Dilute your oils a bit.  During these hot and humid times, I adjust the way I use my facial and body oils just a bit.  I normally use my Anti-Aging Facial Oil, but when it’s super hot, I like to use a thinner oil like the Normal Skin Herbal Oil.  You don’t need to completely switch yourself (you can still use the Anti-Aging Oil), but a trick to diluting any facial oil is to add some Neroli toner to it.  Two sprays or so of toner thins out the oil, so your face feels amazing, even when the heat seems oppressive.  I do the same with my Coconut Body Oil when I use it in a hot and humid climate.

2. Drink!  Not margaritas, silly, but during hot an humid times I drink lots and lots and lots of cool, clean water (I even sneak in a lemon wedge when I can,)  coconut water and eat extra watery rich foods.  Of course, I’m doing my best to stay hydrated, but these water and water-rich foods are two of the best things you can consume for healthy skin.  These are not as sexy as the next and newest skin nutrient, but they’re the most effective.  (Exercise is right up there too!)

3.  Take a cold shower.  OMG, I’ve found a new love for these!  Cold water is actually very good for your skin since it helps increase circulation!  You don’t need to have the water ice cold, but keeping it cooler will help bring more blood to the surface of your skin — in turn, bringing more nutrients and healing.

4.  Get out of the AC.  I am not too crazy about un-natural, air conditioning.  I always feel so dry after a night in an AC cooled room — sometimes my mouth feels dry and my throat is sore.  This makes me wonder what is happening to my skin as well, since the AC tends to take out a bunch of humidity too, leaving the air cool and dry.  For my own personal AC solution, I use fans, a cold water spray bottle, and my toner.  Whenever I feel like I’m heating up, I spray my face, move over to the fan and cool down.
