How to look good while shopping on Black Friday! (see below)
One day a young lady will be reading an old magazine that she found in her grandmother’s attic and see a mention of Black Friday. Well just the notice of black anything may amaze this young lady from the future. In her world, black is not seen as appropriate since we all know we look better in a little color! My stylist, Karen Hughes, will attest to that! This article is talking about how women arose on a Friday morning just after a day of heavy cooking, cleaning, dishwashing and entertaining to go shopping! This article also talked about the way out ways they made sure that they were the first in line to get that (as they thought) once in a lifetime deal! Some slept in cars at the mall, some stayed up all night in (God forbid) a Walmart and some (Oh My) did not take the time to even apply their “face” make up that morning – not even a little lip gloss or mascara!
This young lady of the future must think of us as mad! Surely she thought this must be something like the “The War of the World’s” radio show she had read about in history and literature when they studied H. G. Wells. Today for her shopping was so much more pleasant and easy – plus customer service was so excellent at every store – shoppers were always pleasant and friendly. (Let me embellish the future just a little please!) Well today there is something that all of us can do to make shopping on Black Friday a little more pleasant. Let’s try to feel good about ourselves and if we look good, we will feel good! Take a look at the quick video below to make your Black Friday a little more enjoyable whatever your plans may be!
“Beauty Express” brow-kit instructional video from Anastasia Beverly Hills on Vimeo.
Hopefully you enjoyed the video. I myself was a young (okay younger) gal when I remember first reading about Anastasia first little shop in in Beverly Hills in 1997. I thought maybe there is someone in this world that can make an eyebrow pencil for someone that is Auburn. Many years later (after not being able to jet off to Beverly Hills) I stumbled upon a product of hers that I now worship – the Perfect Brown Pencil in Stawburn. Just like the little girl I was reading a magazine in wonder, but my thoughts were in the future and that future came true with Anatasia!
About Anastasia: Anastasia has long been the definitive eye and brow expert for icons such as Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, Oprah as well as hip up-and-comers like Diana Agron, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift and Kristen Cavalari and has recently expanded into colors that match their superior standards for skincare based cosmetics.
Love this story of Black Friday. My mind takes me to a woman in sweat pants and ugg boots, clutching a thermos of coffee, hair in a hat, with her trusty sidekick and best friend, braving the cold, early morning…6 hours in line, waiting for the Wal-Mart doors to swing open. Then it happened:crowds pushed, the lone security guard ran away, people were trampled. Never again.
I like the Black Friday of your future. Thanks for the post!
Thank you for the vote of a change for Black Friday! Take a look later today at what I think everyone should be doing on Black Friday.
I received an exclusive to a wonderful new Black Friday routine and I will post tonight!
This thread has great information on shopping. A friend of mine told me about this cool app that allows you to get instant feedback from your Facebook friends on whether you should buy something or not (for themselves or as a gift). Here’s the link – I think the app is coming out around Black Friday but you can sign up now:
